Section 2: Calibration

Calibration verification:

When we perform calibration verification we are mapping your system to give you the data you need to verify that your measuring tool is able to perform within the parameters your needs require.

 Calibration:

A calibration is usually preformed after Calibration verification has been preformed and the instrument has been found to be out of spec. Your tool can be out of calibration for a number of reasons:

Liner encoder values need to be reset in the DRO.

Micrometer mounting can be skewed

Bearings can be loose or worn

Stage can be warped or worn

We commonly repair the above problems.  After the calibration has been performed, another calibration verification is done and a calibration sticker is affixed to the scope. A calibration report and certificate are generated and sent to the customer.

Calibration standard:

Aim uses standards which are traceable to NIST We also use an auto collimator to check pitch and yaw. The Accu-Check calibration standard (6”x 6” quartz glass masks) is also available for purchase.

Calibration rates:

AIM rates for calibration verification are $100 per axis.

Calibration charges are $95 per hour (we charge hourly because of the variety of calibration ailments).

Please contact AIM for a quote and our calibration schedule.
